NUREMBERG, GERMANY – The year of 2017 already started out great for Ingentis, when the HR add-on developer celebrated its 20th anniversary. Now, looking back on the business year, Ingentis has yet another reason to celebrate: Despite the IT market’s current shift from the on-premises environment to cloud computing, the Germany-based company was able to achieve record sales yet once again. With 1,600 customers worldwide, the annual turnover adds up to € 6.6 Mio. The figures are gratifying and surprising at the same time as the aforementioned development is expected to cause a near-term decline in licensing revenue.
Moving from on-prem to the cloud
Due to the popularity of cloud computing, the world of IT is witnessing great change while companies of all branches are increasingly turning to online applications instead of on-premises solutions.
In the wake of this shift, Ingentis has already developed and launched several SaaS HR solutions. For one, our flagship product Ingentis org.manager is also available for cloud platforms, the most popular version currently being org.manager [web] for SF for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central. Many customers of Ingentis have already adopted the tool when switching to the cloud and Ingentis is looking forward to supporting many more during this transition.
orginio, another org charting tool, was developed with small and medium sized business in mind and offers a very flexible licensing system. Two further online applications are currently available on the German market only: feedbactive helps organize and evaluate appraisal interviews, the Cultural Fit Evalueator compares a company’s ideals with those of applicants to find the perfect match.
Renting instead of acquiring software
Another trend is subscription-based access to software via rent or lease instead of software purchase. This offers users greater flexibility when it comes to pricing and the feature scope. Due to this trend, a short-term decline in licensing income is to be expected. This development is intensified by the growing popularity of Ingentis’ applications on international markets such as the USA. Here, it is also typical to rent software instead of purchasing it.
Despite these circumstances, Ingentis was able to increase the revenue of 2017 by 17% in comparison to the previous business year. This success confirms the company’s strategy of continuously focusing on its customers’ needs.
