Geberit Relies on Individual HR Data Visualization
Ingentis Success Story
Founded in 1874 as a family business, Geberit AG is now a globally active sanitary group with almost 12,000 employees in around 50 countries. Ingentis org.manager has been supporting the organization in managing its growing workforce, since 2004. In order to be future-ready, the company decided to move its personnel data from the local SAP HCM to the cloud solution SAP SuccessFactors.
Since the latter also includes a feature for displaying organizational structures, the continued use of Ingentis org.manager at Geberit was temporarily called into question- despite a high level of satisfaction with the tool. However, it quickly became clear that the options integrated in SAP SuccessFactors did not offer the desired flexibility and user-friendliness. The introduction of Ingentis org.manager for SAP SuccessFactors was thus a done deal.
The Challenge
Today, Geberit consists of around 80 entities spread across a wide range of countries. In the past, this meant that new entities had to be added to the system continuously. This also included entering HR data. The problem was, however, that at first no one knew exactly what the newly maintained information would look like in the organizational structure in the end.
At the same time, validating the data posed a challenge. Although the information was recorded in the system, checking it for accuracy was a very tedious and time-consuming task. Of course, this topic also played a major role, especially in relation to the migration to SAP SuccessFactors.
While SAP has proven itself to be an ingenious system in terms of database, data management and technology, it still leaves some leeway when it comes to user-friendliness and design. After Ingentis org.manager in the on-premises version, this gap is now closed by Ingentis org.manager for SAP SuccessFactors at Geberit.
Ingentis org.manager for SAP SuccessFactors is able to display links that are not available in the SuccessFactors standard. In the end, this was a decisive factor for continuing to use the Ingentis solution.

The Solution
Ingentis org.manager offers exactly the user-friendliness and individual visualization of HR data that Geberit requires. New data maintained in the system is thus directly prepared visually, which not only provides a quick overview of the organizational structure, but also facilitates the identification of incorrect entries. This way, Ingentis org.manager contributes to improved data quality.
Although the company had been a satisfied customer of Ingentis org.manager, the continued use of the tool was initially on the line after the decision to switch to SAP SuccessFactors was final. The reason for this was the org chart feature, which is already included in SAP’s cloud solution. However, when it became clear that this was very limited in its functionality and offered little opportunity for customization, there was no longer any question about the need for Ingentis org.manager for SAP SuccessFactors.
Departments and employees are shown in the organizational chart. By hovering with the mouse, details about the respective person appear.
Especially because the visualization of HR data also plays an essential role in the migration to SAP SuccessFactors. For this reason, Ingentis org.manager for SAP SuccessFactors was implemented even before the HR system was migrated. Thus, there is currently one system on which the Ingentis software is already live and one on which HR data is maintained locally.
In the next step, data is now exchanged between the two systems. In this context, the visualization of the data enables Geberit to detect potential errors more quickly and to rectify them early in the process.
Another key advantage of the Ingentis solution is its ability to display different types of relationships. Geberit wants to visualize the structure of its organization with a focus on people – an undertaking that is not feasible with the standard in SAP SuccessFactors. Yet another reason why Ingentis org.manager for SAP SuccessFactors proved to be the ideal solution for Geberit.
Departments and employees are clearly visualized in the organizational chart. Country flags also indicate the respective person’s location.
We wanted to start the migration phase with a simple view of the organizational structure. This was quickly provided to us by Ingentis and is currently helping us as planned. Further perspectives and plans with Ingentis org.manager will emerge as the project progresses.

Future Plans
Currently, there is an organizational chart view that is available to all employees worldwide. This is often used, for example, to quickly and easily find out who is who in the company. However, there are already thoughts and ideas about how the extensive functionalities of Ingentis org.manager can be further exploited. Even if there are no fixed plans yet, further perspectives – for example, for HR departments with additional information – are on the horizon. What exactly these will look like will evolve in the course of the project, once employees have worked more intensively with the software, and potentially voice further specific needs.
Another topic for the future is the use of Ingentis business rule trigger which is supposed to resolve existing data inconsistencies. The Ingentis tool helps by automatically passing on changes to HR master data in SAP SuccessFactors to all linked objects in the structure. The effort required for data maintenance can thus be significantly reduced. Here, too, Ingentis closes a gap, as these automated updates are not possible with the SAP solution.
